The ability to feel, bond and experience affection for nature is a keepsake no one will ever be able to take away.
My paintings of nature are a whisper of a deeper place inside the viewer.
For me nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. I'm fascinated by skies, vast lands and the presence of water.
Having been an observer for many years of traveling, I have accumulated an enormous bank of images that are accompanied by sweet memories not only of happiness, but solitude as well. I embrace solitude, which doesn't necessarily mean to feel lonely, but to find a place to merge with a powerful being: nature.
Trying not to be too literal, I'm hoping to create a poetic and magical moment that reveals itself in massive quietness, through the absence of obstacles, and the presence of boundless land.
My goal is to communicate with the viewer, and have them bear witness to, and be absorbed by, the scene - a scene trapped in time of sounds and breeze, of light and shade, of movement and repose going in slow motion.
Many elements may affect the making of my paintings, like nostalgia and spirituality, which are symbolized through the effects of light and sky. These paintings are the result of direct observation, however they are a complex combination of natural elements and the recollection of the emotions that I felt observing those scenes.
The works I'm showing in this event are inspired by hikes, photographs, and the visual observations made when experiencing my surroundings.
Therefore, An Intimate Encounter with Nature communicates those emotions to the viewer. “Art consists of conveying to others the special feeling experienced by an artist.”
